Blog Journal #8

Before this class, I really have never thought about assistive technology much before. Re's presentation was so eyeopening and I took away so much from her presentation. I learned about what a screen reader is and how she uses it in her everyday life as well as how to use image descriptions for students who have visual impairments. If I have a student in my future classroom who has a visual impairment, I am going to make sure to have these things like screen readers and image descriptions available to them to make their experience in the classroom as normal and enjoyable as possible.

Even though Diigo is not my favorite thing to use, I have learned a few things while using it. I have learned how to add a chrome extension and how to annotate online. These applications can be useful because I can annotate documents and share them out to my students and/or colleagues. I also know how to add an extension on chrome if I ever need to for another website.

Technology is not my personal favorite thing in the world. However, I do not mind making power points. It was really interesting to learn how to spice up a powerpoint by adding things like graphic creations, printed document creations, games, and tutorials. This websitez: https://www.fierceeducation.com/technology/technology-trends-higher-education-2023 can help me stay informed about of technology trends in education. It offers examples of the technology trends in education right now in 2023.
